(Intro 2)
Unquiet Nights are a essentially a Rock & Roll band. Formed in Belfast in the summer of 2010 by Northern Irish songwriter Luke Mathers (vocals/guitar) and now including Italians Matteo Bussotti (drums) and Francesco Piciucchi (bass & keys), they’re a hybrid of the guitar based roots which inspire their music.

Mathers’ fascination with music and guitars started in a particularly turbulent part of pre-ceasefire Northern Ireland in the early 1990‘s, collecting Roy Orbison, Tom Petty & Rolling Stones cassettes. Adopting the name Unquiet Nights in partial homage to a Genesis track, and in reference to bi-polar disorder, it was in Belfast that in late summer 2010 recording started on what would become the first album – “21st Century Redemption Songs”. For over a year recording continued alongside regular touring in support of acts like Bloc Party & Toploader. The line-up changed numerous times and recording relocated to Italy. Singles “Shoulda Said Something” and “Burning The Tracks” were released along the way, gaining the band the support of key national stations in the UK, Ireland & Italy such as BBC Radio 1, Absolute Radio, 6 Music, Radio Popolare & RTE 2FM.
