Apr 2012 | BBC Radio 1, Radio Ulster, Klangstation, Melomania
Thrilled to report that BBC Radio 1 is now on the list of stations to have supported the first album, making that 3 national UK stations on board, with Absolute Radio & Amazing Radio playing us already. It was always part of the plan to do well on radio, so it feels great to be picking up some of the important stations so early on without the help of any outside PR. It was one of our new year’s resolutions to get on Radio 1, so obviously we’re happy & vindicated.

» BBC Radio Ulster: “Shoulda Said Something”
If Radio 1 wasn’t enough (it wasn’t), we also got another play on BBC Radio Ulster. Thanks to Phily for his support of the UN cause. We’re never happier than when the BBC are playing us, keep it coming.
» Lurgan Mail: April 5th 2012
“Their debut disc could be mistaken for the seventh or eighth studio album from an established rock outfit given their accomplished sound and mastery of their trade. Think Paul Weller fronting the Rolling Stones and you’re not far from Unquiet Nights sound.” Full article.
» Melomania (Australia)
Talked about this in the last blog update, but we’ve got the recording of it now. Eric Alexandrakis recently played us in a guest DJ spot he did on the syndicated Australian radio show “Melomania”, which is estimated to reach 300,000-400,000 people over there in Oz. Good to hear a Northern Irish twang in the show’s intro too.
» Chordblossom Soundtrack
You might remember that we won a competition a few months ago, which has resulted in being used as the intro music to the Chordblossom.com video channel for the foreseeable future. They’ve just released the first video last week featuring “Burning The Tracks”, which you can see here. The feature itself is an interview with SOAK.
» Radio Oeins: Klangstation (02/04/2012)
Dirk Becker of the show “Klangstation” on the Radio Oeins network (Oldenburg – Germany) recently did a feature on Irish bands and included us, picking out “Someone’s Love on Drugs” from the album. We haven’t got a recording so far, but that would be great to have. Germany has been pretty kind to us with album sales so far – Danke euch allen.
» Other News
As you might notice the website was given an overhaul this month and to my eyes greatly improved. The first album may just have been released but songs are being constantly demoed for the next release, the sun doesn’t shine on a sleeping dogs ass afterall. Hard work was briefly punctured by an Unquiet easter gift, though. We might post something to listen to in the next blog. I’ve got a couple more weeks left in Ireland then back to Italy to keep recording, but we might have some gigs soon in either country depending how it works out.

21st Century Redemption Songs is available physically using Paypal, or Bandcamp for £8 + P&P. It comes with a booklet, liner notes & the same 10 songs as the digital version, which is available at all these stores also.
You can download some of the songs from unquietnights.com/music, but if you do that as opposed to buying the album, atleast join the mailing list, our facebook page, or twitter to stay up to date. All the best…
