Mar 2012 | Citybeat Session & Album Omnibus

Hello all.  This was another busy month for us with plenty of gigs, radio sessions and the usual amount of work going on behind the scenes to keep things happening.  Here’s a look at some of the events of March, starting with an album review by Leigh Forgie of the BBC…

» Chordblossom.com: Album Review

“I find it very hard to believe that ’21st Century Redemption Songs’ is the debut album from Unquiet Nights. Clean cut and polished, each instrument has its defined role to play, rather than adopting the wall of sound noise that so many modern rock and indie bands tend to opt for. These guys sound a lot more ‘veteran’ than ‘mere upstarts’.  4/5

Live Session @ Citybeat 96.7fm, Belfast

We played a couple of songs and were interviewed by David Gordon on his City Nights show.  It’s on Citybeat 96.7fm (Northern Ireland), and was in conjunction with the live gig we did at The Slip, Portaferry.  Thanks to David for having us on, and remember he has a copy of the album so you can annoy him aaany time to play us.  More info on the session here.

» Auntie Annie’s w/ Little Doses

Did a great gig with Little Doses in Belfast @ Auntie Annies. Have to thank Mark (ex-Snow Patrol bass player) for apparantly finding a video of us on youtube in the same venue from 2011 and asking us to do it. The setlist, any videos we have and some photos by Bernie MacAllister & Carrie Davenport are in the tour blog. Here’s one of the videos..

» Justin Wayne Show: Unquiet Nights Omnibus

This was planned for a long time. Justin has been supporting us since the first week of our recorded output, playing every track on the album as we’ve finished them, and coming to our Scala London gig last April. So we were finally able to do an “Album Omnibus” episode of his show, playing each track amidst an extended interview. Have a listen below..

» Dew Winter Tour: Best of 2012 Highlights

We’ve soundtracked just about every other extreme sport by now, so we’re pleased to finally be used in a Ski soundtrack. It’s the Best of 2012 highlights of the Dew Winter Tour, and “We Were The Ones”.

» Other News

“Burning The Tracks” was licensed by Xercise Lab in California for a fitness DVD coming out soon.  Happy to have passed 50,000 plays on Soundcloud and 90,000 on Last.fm during March.  The first album has made it to most online stores now including Spotify, eMusic, Amazon and iTunes (full list here).  So anyone who wants to share a particular album playlist around the internet is much loved by us.

» Finally…

21st Century Redemption Songs is available physically using Paypal, or Bandcamp for £8 + P&P. It comes with a booklet, liner notes & the same 10 songs as the digital version, which is available at many stores also.

You can download some of the songs from unquietnights.com/music, but if you do that as opposed to buying the album, atleast join the mailing list, our facebook page, or twitter to stay up to date.  All the best…

Luke.
